Research and reflection

I found studying drawing and conceptual practice to be different and I initially expected. The drawing exercises in the morning, though challenging for me due to their abstract process, gradually expanded my view of what the work that I produced had to be. The afternoon group work went surprisingly well. While my group initially found it challenging to sit to the understand the concept of mapping I was pleased with our final result. The tape which I applied to the door followed the metal wires that ran through the windows and it was also inspired by Sol Lewitt's: - 'A Square Divided Horizontally and Vertically into Four Equal Parts, Each with a Different Direction of Alternating Parallel Bands of Lines' as it followed a similar structure and pattern, although it presented vey different ideas focusing rather on distorting and obstructing one's view as it as looked through. Overall, today encouraged me to try and approach projects with a more open mindset.
