Reflection 24/9

I found the first day of design for theatre, screen, and performance to be more challenging, particularly regarding group work. Communicating with language barriers was something I hadn't had to do much of previously. Our group also found it difficult to break away from cliche ideas for a heist given that our song of choice was the Pink Panther Theme- we later went on to embrace this. Drawing from music also wasn't as fun as it sounded perhaps as I tend to focus on outcomes rather than the process.

Day 2 presented its own challenges although I found it much more satisfying as we had a clear concept of what our script was and could finally start constructing the project. Teamwork had been improved as the main jobs were now to draw the characters and backdrops, something less reliant on constant communication. There was obviously only a small amount of time meaning our project wasn't exactly polished and perfected but we did manage to get our video together in the end and I was pleased with how surprisingly entertaining I found it.

Finally, after viewing the sets and videos from other students in Camberwell I wondered whether our group should've perhaps taken a set-first approach rather than a story-first approach given the focus of the current specialism.
